In April 2020 when I wrote my last blog post, I had no idea what the next three years would bring. Like many writers I was working at a full time position and also writing my books. A fun juggling act and one I always enjoyed. Until the pandemic. No one could know how their lives, and their jobs would change and many part time writers (like me) had to put their writing aside. And yes, it was painful to pack up everything physically and mentally that I had worked so hard to build.

And now, after three very long and very difficult years I was able to retire from full time library work, begin a new part time gig that I love, and say hello to my characters from my third romance novel. I was surprised that they have been waiting patiently in the background of my life, ready to spring into action when I was.
There have been other changes as well. We lost our rescue dog, Gracie a couple of months before the pandemic started and our rescue kitty, Rudy Valentino last fall. We didn’t think we’d ever get another dog, but in December 2022 we welcomed Birdie into our lives. Birdie is a hound mix from South Carolina and can be as stubborn as she is sweet. We fell in love the moment we saw her photo online. We’re about to see what kind of camping dog she’ll be.

I want to say a big thank you to everyone who bought my books and attended online book/author events the past three years. Your support is part of what keeps this dream alive. I’m working to giving you another novel in the next year or so that is set on the Maine coast, featuring a librarian who came out later in life and a genealogist who has been looking for love in all the wrong places. In the meantime, subscribe to my newsletter because I’ll be including a new serial story with episodes/chapters each month starting in August 2023.
Take care and Happy Reading!
